GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 Men's Soccer All-Conference selections and Gallaudet University freshman forward Chad Johnson (Gardena, Calif.) was named to the second team.
Johnson earned one NEAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award (Sept. 24) and ranks in several NCAA Division III categories; 21st in shots on goal per game (2.38), 28th in goals (14), goals per game (0.88), 30th in points per game (2.0), 31st in shots per game (4.31) and 37th in points. Johnson ranks second in the NEAC for points (32), goals (14), shots (69) plus fourth in penalty kicks (2-for-2), sixth in game-winning goals (two) and ninth in assists (four). He had four multi-goal games and recorded a hat trick against University of Valley Forge on Oct. 17 to go with one assist for a career best seven-point game. Johnson recorded a goal in nine of the 16 games he played in. He led Gallaudet in every major offensive category and took a team best 33 corner kicks.
Penn St.-Abington sophomore forward Jose Palomeque was selected as the NEAC Player of the Year as he scored eight goals, eight assists and 24 points in 17 games. SUNY Cobleskill junior defender Gregoire Diedhiou was picked as the NEAC Defensive Player of the Year while Morrisville State freshman midfielder Toyi Hakizimana was named NEAC Rookie of the Year as he scored three goals and four assists. Lancaster Bible College head coach Tom Ardt was selected by his peers as the NEAC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career as the Chargers set a new program record for conference wins (nine) and the No. 2 seed in the NEAC tournament.
This is Gallaudet's fourth All-NEAC honor since the school joined the conference in 2010.
