GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its student-athlete of the week awards for May 7 and Gallaudet University junior Cameron Upton (Vicksburg, Miss.) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Player of the Week.

Upton posted a .889 batting average as he went 16-for-18 in four conference road games last weekend as GU posted a 3-1 record to conclude the 2018 season. The junior infielder hit for the cycle in his final game of the season against SUNY Cobleskill. He went 6-for-7 against the Fighting Tigers in a 23-14 victory. He finished the week with 12 RBI, 10 runs, six extra-base hits (three doubles, two triples, one home run), 26 total bases and two stolen bases. Upton posted an eye-popping 1.444 slugging percentage and an outstanding .850 on-base percentage.

Penn St.-Berks junior Sean Pavlik was named the NEAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. He allowed just one hit and did not issue a walk in a complete-game shutout at Penn College on May 5. He allowed just two base runners, with one reaching on an error, and struck out six to improve to 4-1 on the year. With the regular season complete, Pavlik ranks third in the league with a 1.91 ERA against NEAC opponents.

This marks the second NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the Bison this season and Upton's first honor this season and second of his career (March 7, 2016).
